The Star Magnolia is showing off with large, white blossoms.

Genus: Magnolia stellata

This magnolia is a slow-growing, small tree – topping out at heights of 15-20 feet.  The flowers appear in early spring, well before any leaves appear. The flowers on this tree are deliciously fragrant!

Fun Fact: There is natural variation within the flower color of the Star Magnolia. It varies from white to rich pink. The hue of pink magnolias changes from year to year, depending on day and night air temperatures prior to and during flowering.
